About
Born and raised in Glasgow, I was introduced to photography as a child by my late father. Our kitchen pantry was a working darkroom for both black and white film processing as well as printing photographs. This inspired me to go onto study Professional Photography at Glasgow College of Building and Printing in the early 1980s.
My parents came from the Isle of Lewis in the Outer Hebrides and from an early age I knew my heart belonged there. Although I worked in many areas of photography professionally, the Hebrides gave me the most enjoyment and satisfaction - the amazing light, the incredible landscape and also the freedom to seek out my own interpretation of the islands. In 2017 I was fortunate to be able to make the move to Lewis and make my dream a reality. Since the move I have been grateful to work with a number of renowned organizations such as Harris Tweed Hebrides, Outer Hebrides Tourism and many more. I have also enjoyed teaching a number of further education photography night classes, helping to inspire budding photographers.
